Access the pane
We drill small ports into the corners of the glass to reach the sealed cavity between the two panes.
Wash the cavity
A series of solutions is sprayed at high pressure to lift the moisture and mineral staining off the interior glass surfaces.
Drain and dry
Solution and trapped moisture are drained out, leaving dry air between the panes and a clear line of sight.
Fit the vents
See-through valves cap the ports. They over-compensate for the existing seal failure, so any future moisture is expelled on its own.

Insulated glass replacement
If the glass is cracked, damaged or stained beyond restoration, we replace the IGU with a custom-ordered unit, so you're not sent to a second contractor.

Can a foggy window be repaired without replacing it?
Yes. When the seal on a double-pane window fails, moisture gets between the panes and fogs the glass. We drill small ports in the corners of the glass, wash and dry the space between the panes, then fit see-through valves. The window stays in its frame.

What causes fog between window panes?
Seal failure. When the seal on an insulated glass unit fails, moisture gets between the two panes. The fog and mineral staining you see are on the inside faces of the glass, where you cannot wipe them.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every restored window carries a 5-year warranty. The valves we fit let any future moisture escape on its own.
Does a restored window still insulate?
Restoration brings back up to 90% of the window's R-value, which is its insulating performance.
When does a window need to be replaced instead?
When the glass is cracked, damaged or stained beyond restoration. We will tell you if that is the case, and we can replace the insulated glass unit with a custom-ordered one.
Do you do window seal repair?
Yes. This is what most people mean by window seal repair. When a seal fails we don't replace the seal itself. We remove the moisture trapped between the panes and fit valves that keep the space dry. If you would rather have a new sealed unit, we replace the glass too.
